FreightWeek is jointly presented by the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), and held at the Melbourne Park Function Centre from 2nd to 6th September.
VTA Executive Director and Freight Week Chairman, Philip Lovel AM said "Freight Week is a freight industry owned and sponsored event with a ticket price around a tenth of commercial conferences, yet its value in networking and professional content is immense."
Freight Week 2013 Key stats:
- Over 1000 delegates already registered
- All exhibition space sold out
- 3 Ministers Speaking: Terry Mulder MP, David Hogett MP & Gary Blackwood MP

With a new theme of "We've got something to say", Freight Week 2013 has an impressive lineup of senior people from across the freight and logistics sector including the heads of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, National Transport Commission, Transport Certification Australia, VicRoads, Australian Trucking Association, Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal, EastLink, Transurban, Port of Melbourne, New South Wales Ports, QUBE, SCT Logistics, Kalari and the Transport Workers Union.
A number of sessions at Freight Week will benefit from the input of overseas speakers. Waterfront, Rail Trends, Managing Road Congestion and Safety Day all have international representatives. "Whilst Australia leads the world in some aspects of freight and logistics, we don't have the answers in all areas and it is essential to draw on international expertise," said Mr. Lovel.
The roll call of supporters and sponsors for Freight Week is impressive. Thirty five organisations involved in the industry have put their hands up to be involved at Freight Week. "It shows the depth of our industry as well as the complexity. If you are not aware of their roles and how these organisations impact on your business then here is an opportunity to find out." said Mr. Lovel.
