Iveco recognises top dealers for 2022
Iveco Trucks Australia’s Dealer of the Year awards night for 2022 was held in Melbourne in late March and saw dealerships from New South Wales and South Australia take all the major awards.
Divided into two main categories, ‘Light’ and ‘Medium and Heavy,’ with recognition for regional and metropolitan dealerships, too, Iveco’s Dealer of the Year awards are based on performance in several areas, including vehicle sales (against retail targets and share of market), spare parts sales, customer service, and maintenance and repair outcomes.
In Dealer of the Year – Light, the award went to Iveco Sydney, who had Dealer Principal, Daniel Glynn accept the award, while Dealer of the Year - Medium and Heavy was received by General Manager, Michelle Papalia, who accepted the award on behalf of Adelaide Iveco.
Dealer of the Year – Regional went to Newcastle Iveco, with Dealer Principal, Sean Lynch, accepting the award.
The overall Iveco Dealer of the Year winner was STM Trucks & Machinery, a long-standing Iveco dealership in Smeaton Grange (Narellan), NSW, led by Dealer Principal, Michael Gerace, who accepted the award.
The event also recognised individual award winners across sales and customer service categories.
The awards night was held in conjunction with the internal launch of Iveco’s new S-Way range. Orders for this new, fully imported heavy-duty prime mover and rigid range opened last November.
The range consists of prime movers in 4x2 and 6x4, as well as rigids in 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 configurations. Three Euro 6-rated engines are offered, with five output options, from 340hp (251kW) and 1400Nm to a range-topping 550hp (419kW) and 2500Nm.
Iveco’s HI-TRONIX automated manual transmission is available in 12- or 16-speed form, with driveline features like ECO MODE PLUS and anti-idling capabilities to reduce fuel use. The new S-Way’s more aerodynamic cabin design helps here, too.
While several units are already with customers, the first hands-on experience of the new S-Way for many drivers and transport operators was at the Brisbane Truck Show in May.
Commenting on the awards, Iveco Trucks Australia Managing Director, Michael May, said the Dealer of the Year competition was hotly contested by the entire Iveco dealer network, with Iveco customers being the real winners of the program.
“Dealer of the Year is formal recognition of 12 months’ hard work and dedication in further elevating the Iveco brand and achieving positive outcomes across all areas of our business,” May said.
“By promoting excellence, we’re strengthening Iveco’s standing as a company that truck and van owners want to associate and engage with, ultimately trusting us to deliver their transport solutions.
“It’s not just about having the correct vehicles for the application but backing customers with a suite of support products to make ownership easy and hassle free – it should be a holistic experience.
“I would like to congratulate all our worthy award recipients on their excellent efforts.”
