Holland C Series Wheel Loaders
Along with the wheel loaders there are also two B Series models, the W110B and W130B, as well as two compact wheel loader models, the W50B TC and W80B TC. The New Holland C Series of wheel loaders delivered bigger payloads and faster cycle times.
C Series
The new additions included three C Series wheel loaders, the W170C, W190C and the W230C, in models ranging from 133kW to 168kW. The W170C has a bucket capacity of 259 m3 and engine power of 133kW, the W190C 3.25 m3 and 154kW, and the W230C a bucket capacity of 3.63 m3 and 168kW engine.
The 4.75 cubic yard W230C wheel loader is a new size-class for New Holland, offering more power, greater tipping weight and bucket breakout force, making it ideal for high production truck loading applications.
The C Series is powered by 6.7-litre engines with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to deliver improved power and low fuel consumption. With SCR technology standard in all three C-Series models, the new range meets the Tier 4 requirements to reduce emissions, along with delivering increased power and fuel savings of up to 10 percent. The W190C has peak torque of 1200Nm in Maximum mode.
In addition to their Tier 4, 6.7 litre engines, the new C-Series wheel loaders have a range of other features for increased productivity and power on site. "The W170C, W190C and W230C feature four upgraded power modes. Operators benefit by being able to match available engine power to the job at hand while maximising engine efficiency and productivity.
All of the loaders have stronger and faster hydraulics, and a new optional five-speed transmission with lock-up torque converter provides faster acceleration, quicker cycle times and higher travel speeds.
With rearward-mounted engine, the loaders are better counterbalanced, and make servicing access easier. For the operator there is a reduction in noise and vibration as the engine is not located directly behind the cab. This creates a more comfortable operating environment.
Another feature of the C Series wheel loaders is the advanced Cooling Cube. The Cube is positioned in the centre of the machine with the radiators mounted around three of its sides and the hydraulic tank positioned in the centre. This means the engine acts as a counterweight, enhancing stability and giving best access for service.
The hydraulically driven fan, automatically activated by a thermostatic sensor, draws fresh clean air from outside through the radiators and blows it over the engine to the rear of the machine. Each cooler is cooled individually with fresh air, not heated air from the previous cooler as in other wheel loaders. Cooling is optimised, lowering stress on components and allowing for longer operation.
B Series
The B Series W110 and W130 wheel loaders feature a closed-centre, load-sensing hydraulic system for fast cycle times and maximum breakout force on demand. Four different work modes allow the operator to select a power mode to match machine performance to the job, to maximise productivity and fuel efficiency.
"Maximum power delivers performance for extreme conditions, while standard power is designed for normal loading conditions," said New Holland marketing manager Wayne Munce. "Economy power is designed for efficiency during lift and carry applications, while the automatic power option matches the power curve to the application."
Maintenance-free outboard wet disc brakes on all wheels help improve traction and control, while rugged, limited slip differentials keep moving in the worst conditions by transferring power from the slipping wheel to the wheels with the best traction.
The W110 and W130 also feature best in class cabs for superior comfort, and ground level maintenance check points for speed and ease of access.
Compact Wheel Loaders
The new compact wheel loader options, the W50 BTC and W80 BTC, deliver outstanding performance in a compact, manoeuvrable machine.
"The beauty of our compact wheel loaders is that they're compatible with New Holland's skid steer loader attachments," said Munce. "The versatility to switch attachments between machinery means customers get even more bang for their buck."
The compact models also offer a new boom design with one lift cylinder and one bucket cylinder, excellent dump reach and great visibility.
"These machines are very operator-friendly," he said. "With less than two degrees horizontal lift deviation, there's no need for manual correction during forklift operation. Operators can focus more on load placement and increasing cycle times."
New Holland wheel loaders are well established and proven performers internationally, and according to Munce, "We want to offer Australian operators a wheel loader that's built and designed to deliver outstanding performance for our harsh working conditions."
