1948 mack vintage bus

Good condition for age. Suit Basic restoration. Some roof timbers need replacing. Mechanically complete and was running and driving good when parked. So just needs a basic go over to get running and driving again due to just sitting around unused. Valves in-head. 292 and 331 CID etc. High CHROMIUM NICKEL and they are also a WET-SLEEVE design. This means that the cylinder wall (sleeve) is a separately machined part that fits into the cylinder bores cast into the engine block. This enhances durability because the consistent wall thickness of the sleeve allows for consistent heat transfer, ensuring the cylinders stay round during thermal expansion. Additionally, the hardened cylinder sleeve is more durable and wear resistant than a softer, cast-in wall. Also, the replaceable cylinder sleeves protect the block from damage (e.g. in case of foreign objects entering the cylinder) and can easily be replaced, which enables simpler restoration to original specifications. The wet-sleeve design also allows the engine to be rebuilt easily to factory specifications, sometimes without even removing the engine from the vehicle.

R.E.O. are the initials of 'Ransom Eli Olds' of Oldsmobile fame in the USA! He left Oldsmobile to make his own line of Ultimate/ Premium vehicles which he was feeling held back with in the old Business at that stage.
